CONGRATULATIONS Alison Uitti First Days: Wall of Tears Book Launch is on May 2nd at McNally Robinson in Saskatoon

Posted April 25 2012

'First Days:  Wall of Tears' promises to be just as engaging as the first book 'First Days: Night Movies'.

As in the first book, the main character (a newcomer child) describes her thoughts and feelings but often doesn’t have the words to say.  She also doesn’t have the words to describe her own post-traumatic stress symptoms make her feel inside.

Keeping her own trauma hidden is no longer an option, when the main character begins to learn about residential school survivors.  During a special event, the young newcomer makes a heart connection with an elder.

‘Flying stones’ bring profound surprises to more than one heart at the school’s annual event to honour and remember victims of residential schools.
